The full development of the individual requires some influence from outside. This influence can be represented by people, events, and … stress. We are exactly interested in this latter factor. Stress can be physical and psychological. Physical arises from a sense of hunger, heat, thirst, cold, infection, etc. Psychological – is the result of a strong nervous strain.

The effects of stress on the human body can be either positive or negative. The positive changes are caused by stress which is not too severe and prolonged. However, if the effects of stress are intense, dramatic, overcast at the time, – it will have a devastating result. In attempts to compensate the increasing internal dissatisfaction, a person begins to consume psychoactive substances, alcohol, drugs, their sexual preferences change, starts to make rational decisions, immerses in the world of gambling. This behavior only aggravates the inner discomfort and adds more problems.

In the event when stress has a negative impact, it is possible to change a number of factors, including physical and mental health, social circle, success in the realization of professional plans, relationships with the opposite sex.

The effects of stress on health

Stress and its effects are directly proportional phenomenon, the stronger and longer is the stress, the greater will be the negative impact it shows, foremost on the health. Stress breaks the rhythm of human life. Due to the strong nervous strain under the “stroke” the most vulnerable body systems are: cardiovascular, gastrointestinal tract, endocrine system. The effects of stress on the human body may not appear immediately, but might have a delayed development of a serious and, sometimes, life-threatening, diseases. No wonder doctors warn us that “all diseases are cause by stress.” By the way, if you want to learn how to cope with severe stress, be sure to download the book “Primal Stress”. It presents a very reliable management. I recommend!

The hormones, produced by the body during stress tensions, are needed for the normal functioning of the body, but the amount of these hormones should not be high. High amounts of hormones promote the development of various diseases, including cancer. Their negative effect is compounded by the fact, that modern people lead a sedentary lifestyle, and rarely use the muscle energy. For this reason, active substances are “wandering” through the body for a long time and in high concentrations, thereby, keeping the body in a state of tension and do not allow the nervous system to calm down.

Thus, high concentrations of glucocorticoids causes breakdown of proteins and nucleic acids, which ultimately promotes muscular dystrophy. In the bone, hormones lead to suppression of absorption of calcium together with a reduction of bone mass. The risk of osteoporosis, a fairly common disease among women, is increasing. In the skin – they inhibit the renewal function of fibroblasts, thereby causing a thinning of the skin and poor healing of injuries. The effects of stress can manifest itself in the degeneration of brain cells, growth retardation, and decreased insulin secretion etc.

Stress and social circle

Stress itself does not have any impact on the social circle. However, the effects of stress, which lead to psycho-emotional rearrangements, may be one of the main factors that violate the interaction with the society. First of all, these disorders are associated with an unwillingness to maintain the old relationship, which leads to narrowing of the circle of friends. Also, common in this situation might be a conflict, negativity and a sharp flash of anger, which, of course, is reflected in the cooperation with partners in the dialogue. As a result, a person, who has experienced stress disorder, under the influence of acquired characteristics, loses the usual social circle, which enhances decrease of post stress reactions.
